Voter Registration Training to help increase Wisconsin voter registrations

Voter Registration Training

Why It Matters
Every eligible voter should have a fair and equal opportunity to register to vote and to cast their ballot. Millions of Americans miss the opportunity to vote because they don’t know how to register or they miss their state’s deadline.

Participants will learn about the voter registration system in Wisconsin and how to help guide others through the voter registration process. Topics include registration methods (on-line through MyVote.wi.gov, by mail, or in person), registration deadlines, eligibility requirements, and required documents.

In addition, participants will see how they can use MyVote.wi.gov to identify practical information for registered voters, such as who is their municipal clerk, where is their polling place, when is their next election date and what’s on their ballot, their voting activity history, and how to request an absentee ballot. The goal is for participants to feel comfortably knowledgeable in helping others register to vote and to know how to access expert resources.
A free voter registration training will be offered September 8, 2022, from 10:30 am-noon on Zoom by the League of Women Voters-Greater Chippewa Valley (LWV-GCV). The information is geared for people who want to learn about voting in Wisconsin, so they may help guide others through the voter registration process. The session will also provide a good refresher training to people who are returning to voter registration volunteering after a few years away.
