6th Annual Hmong Youth Day

About this event

The event focuses on uplifting and connecting youth with the community, building cultural identity, and fostering relationships between local organizations (such as police and fire departments) and Hmong community members. This is a wonderful opportunity to build connections with the Hmong community, assist them with registering to vote in the upcoming elections, and answer any questions they may have about voting.
LWV-GCV Member Volunteers Needed...
The Hmong Youth Day celebration will include a LWV GCV tabling event to promote voter registration and League membership. We’ll offer interactive, youth friendly activities that help explain the importance of voting and provide assistance to attendees.

Volunteer shifts:
  • 4:30–6:30pm
  • 6:30–8:30pm

Shift details:
  • First shift (4:30–6:30pm): Volunteers arrive at 4:30pm to help set up the display, then engage with participants until 6:30pm.
  • Second shift (6:30–8:30pm): Volunteers arrive at 6:30pm to continue outreach and assist with taking down the display at the end of the evening.

How to sign up: Members, please click the Volunteer button to the right on this page. Note: Members must be logged in to volunteer.

New or unsure about tabling? If you are a first-time volunteer—or simply prefer a little guidance—you may sign up as an “observer volunteer.” This lets the lead volunteer know you’d appreciate mentoring as you participate in the activity.
