The Proposed "Anti-Equity" Constitutional Amendment--What Voters Need to Know
About this event
Did you know that on November 3, Wisconsin voters
will be asked to approve an
"Anti-Equity" Constitutional Amendment
that would undo 60 years of Civil Rights of progress in Wisconsin?
The wording of the amendment is misleading--it's important for voters to understand the potential damage to public education, community services, and efforts to address health disparities.
Come get answers to your questions!
League members can help educate voters about the amendment! Join us at brewery nønic in Menomonie, on Tuesday, August 18, 6:00pm to 7:30pm. to share information and get answers to our questions.
Our guest presenter will be attorney, law professor, and LWV-WI Legislative Committee Member Joan Schwarz, joining us by Zoom from Madison.
In preparation, Joan has requested that you review the LWV-Wisconsin Constitutional Corner toolkit and the slide presentation in that toolkit. If you're unable to attend on August 18, the presentation and Q&A will be recorded for access on our website, lwv-gcv.org, following the event.
There is no fee, but registration is requested. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Members, remember to log into our website to RSVP.
