Volunteering Opportunities

LWV-GCV volunteers are needed for this forum for setting up the room, welcoming and registering participants, hosting the guest presenters, managing the Q&A and collecting and curating audience question cards, staffing a membership and voter registration table, and packing up after the event.

While Wisconsin currently has fair state legislative voting maps, these are only in place for now, until the 2030 Census. We need LEGISLATION to ensure FAIR VOTING MAPS for FUTURE GENERATIONS. The WI Fair Maps Coalition has been working on a draft proposal for an independent redistricting commission, and this will be an opportunity for community dialog and input. Chippewa Valley Vote, the WI Fair Maps Coalition, and LWV-GCV are co-sponsoring a community hearing at the Hmong Mutual Assistance Association, 1320 West Clairemont, Eau Claire, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026. 

Volunteers will be needed for set-up (from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.), greeting participants and presenters, promoting membership in LWV-GCV, assisting with the Q&A, and wrapping up the event. The entire event volunteer time is from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Assist approximately 40 seniors with understanding the voter registration process and other related information regarding voting (i.e. absentee voting, poll locations, etc.)

The 2026 elections are coming up! Volunteers will wear yellow vests and offer assistance to customers at the DMV Service Center on Melby Street to help them register to vote.

League volunteers will help Cairn House residents with voter registration, following a brief presentation by the lead volunteer Jane Pedersen. Contact is Jane Pedersen, pedesenj67@outlook.com.

League volunteers will help Cairn House residents with voter registration, 1620 Stout Rd, Menomonie. Cairn House is a 20-bed homeless shelter owned and operated by Stepping Stones, a non-profit organization. Residents requesting to register will be provided with documentation for Proof of Residence at the Cairn House. We will work with paper voter registration applications as we are within the 20 days when myvote.wi.gov is not available for registration.

Parking is available in Stepping Stones lot, please arrive at 3:45pm.

Volunteers will wear yellow vests and offer assistance to customers at the DMV Service Center on Clairemont Ave to help them register to vote.

LWV-GCV volunteers will assist eligible students to register to vote during two lunch periods. Two to three volunteers will work from a table and remaining volunteers will float throughout the dining room to inform or remiind students of this opportunity. Interacting with students is an enjoyable part of this activity.

It is expected that students will use their personal devices to register, but paper forms will be available. All forms needed will be available.  

Please arrive at high school office, 1715 5th St E., Menomonie WI, at noon for set up and remain for take down at 1:45pm. The parking lot is directly in front of the main entrance.

Volunteer will greet DMV customers as they enter and offer to help with updating voter registration online at a dedicated computer kiosk.

Educate 17- and 18-year-olds about the importance of voting, assist 18-year-olds with voter registration, aid students to find valuable information through www.myvote.wi.gov and www.vote411.org.
