Multicultural Festival 2025, second shift
This will be a tabling event to promote voter registration and membership in LWV-GCV, featuring interactive activities promoting the knowledge of citizenship and voting specific to youth and adults.
First shift volunteers will arrive at 11a.m. to help set up the display and then do outreach to the participants until 2 p.m. Second shift volunteers will arrive at 2 p.m. to do outreach and then assist with taking down the display at the end of the event.
PLEASE NOTE if you are a first-time volunteer or otherwise don't feel prepared to work independently, you may sign up as an "observer-trainee" so that the lead volunteer will know that you'd appreciate some mentoring as you help with this activity.

Description:
While Wisconsin currently has fair state legislative voting maps, these are only in place for now, until the 2030 Census. We need LEGISLATION to ensure FAIR VOTING MAPS for FUTURE GENERATIONS. The WI Fair Maps Coalition has been working on a draft proposal for an independent redistricting commission, and this will be an opportunity for community dialog and input. The League of Women Voters is an ally of the Fair Maps Coalition. Our chapter has consistently supported the fair maps effort, and LWV-GCV is a co-sponsor of a community hearing at the Dunn County Judicial Center, 815 Stokke Parkway, Menomonie, WI 54751 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

We will meet with visitors to the food pantry indoors as they are in line for shopping. If you have a device to access myvote.wi.gov online, please bring it with you (not required, but handy!).
