A Discussion on Civility in the Public Arena The League of Women Voters of Greater Chippewa Valley, in collaboration with the UW Stout Center for Applied Ethics, Interim Director, Kate Edenborg, encourage students, voters, and people of all backgrounds and viewpoints to join us in a discussion on civility in public discourse. Speakers: - Chris Freeman, Professor, UW-Stout Social Science - Tim Nordin, President Eau Claire School Board Speaker Dr. Chris Freeman will present historical traditions of civil discourse. He will also share his experiences as a member of the Menomonie School Board during sometimes-contentious discussions about pandemic measures and curricular issues. Dr. Tim Nordin will discuss his school board leadership when targeted by a death threat. Following their presentations, both speakers will respond to audience questions and comments. In addition, there will be a short LWV-GCV General Member Meeting after the presentation.
