Hmong Youth Day Member Recruitment and Voter Outreach

About Hmong Youth Day

Hmong Youth Day is a celebration of Hmong Youth in high, middle and elementary schools. The purpose of the event is to share resources, connect with the community and celebrate Hmong youth. In 2023, attendance surpassed 600 youth and adults.

Volunteer information

Hmong Youth Day will feature a tabling event to advance the connection between the League of Women Voters of Greater Chippewa Valley with the Hmong community and others.  We'll promote voter registration and membership in LWV-GCV, featuring interactive activities promoting the knowledge of citizenship and voting specific to youth and adults.

First shift volunteers will arrive at 3 p.m. to help set up the display and then do outreach to Hmong Youth Day participants until 5 p.m.  Second shift volunteers will arrive at 5 p.m. to do outreach and then assist with taking down the display at the end of the event.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are a first time volunteer or otherwise don't feel prepared to work on your own, you may sign up as an "observer-volunteer" so that the lead volunteer will know that you'd appreciate some mentoring as you help with this activity.

For further information, contact lead volunteer Marilyn Hagen, (715) 210-0073.
